The translation into the modern Aramaic dialect of Tur‛abdin (Turoyo/Surayt) was made and recorded on a disc by the voice of Mor Polycarpus Awgin Aydin, the Patriarchal Vicar of the Netherland, for the benefit of those who prefer a ‘talking book’ in their beloved mother tongue. Gabriel Aydin, the founder and director of the Syriac Music Institute, composed the background music that provides a perfect cadence for the all readings. Gabriel, also borrowed several stanzas of St Jacob’s poems and put them into music in order to be sung as chants. The CD is consisting of 17 tracks. This is a beautiful piece of art.
